Steam Remote Play Now Offers 4K Gaming Experience
Valve has released a new update for the Steam Client Beta, bringing a highly anticipated feature to the platform. The latest update now includes 4K support for the Steam Remote Play service, offering gamers a range of presets to easily adjust their preferred high-resolution settings for different games. Previously, achieving 4K resolution while playing remotely was a challenging task that often required extensive tinkering with settings and yielded inconsistent results. This update aims to address these issues and provide a more seamless experience for users.
This change will finally allow gamers to take advantage of high-end peripherals such as 4K displays when using remote streaming. For the uninitiated, Steam Remote Play is a useful service that streams PC games from your Steam library to phones, tablets, laptops, and similar devices. Its sister service Steam Remote Play Together adds online multiplayer to the mix, allowing players who don’t even own the game to participate in competitive or co-op games.
4K streaming isn’t the only new feature included in this update, though it’s certainly the most significant. Valve also now allows users to resize the settings window, and it has made the back button more reliable for making small adjustments, such as tinkering with 4K streams. The company also fixed a number of bugs, such as folders not being recreated when checking game installations, and overlays freezing when displaying file windows.
Finally, Big Picture Mode received some minor bug fixes and Steam added support for the Indonesian language. The update is available to download now, but this is a beta, so you may want to wait for the official final release.
